Im a 22 years old, I race a street-stock at the Famed Kokomo Speedway in Indiana. We raced there all season it was great, then time for the banquet they try to tell us that since we did not sell 50/50 tickets throughout the season that we do not get any point money. The way we see it we went there to race not to sell 50/50 tickets. this is the dumbest thing we ever heard of. We payed 20 dollers every week to get in, (that is times 5 people) not counting supplies. just keep that in mind the next time you go to (cheap-skate) evans KOKOMO SPEEDWAY!!!!!!

you are right to be mad at the speedway for not including your division in the banquet.
If the sponsors of the event were smart, they would treat you as good as the others so as to encourage you to move up, which I think most of your racers would like to do.

If going up in the grandstands and selling 50/50 tickets was the policy for getting a point fund, then you did not "get screwed" buddy boy. If you were really smart, all you street stockers should have had the wives selling 50/50 tickets during the summer and you probably would have had a bigger point fund then the other divisions. Better yet, go out and get your own point fund from sponsors and kick all the other divisions butts when it comes to the awards banquet. Maybe you should sell HANKYS so you street stockers could buy a big box of KLEENEX to WIPE your noses.

Yeah, you got screwed. That sounds like a hokey deal if I've ever heard one. Was that at Kokomo, or JOKEomo? Older Man is intitled to his opinion, although he should state them when he's sober! Let me guess, he's a used car salesman, no wait, insurance salesman.

I live near Kokomo and have been going there for many many years. By the way, I'm not a salesman. I've watched Kokomo Speedway slowly go down hill for a long time until Kent Evans took it over. He has put his life savings into it and is learning how to try to make it better for the fans and competitors both. I know from being an onlooker that he hasn't made all the right moves and it's cost him a lot of money and some irate people, but nobody always makes the right moves. It will get better. Everybody is always waiting to jump on the promoter if things don't go exactly the way they want them to, especially the race fan. I know there have been times I wasn't very happy either but could see that Kent was trying to make them better or at least he was making an attempt to make them better. I hope he keeps the track and hope his thoughts and dreams come to the point where he can look back and see the difference in what he has done.
